The Miracle Plant

The first person to peak my interest in the Aloe Vera plant, aka, "the miracle plant," was my 85-year-old neighbor. She lost her husband a few years ago but she is still going strong, still doing yard-work.

One Saturday morning, after trimming some hedges in her backyard, we had a rather lengthy conversation about a couple plants she had on her deck. I'm a plant-lover, so as we're talking, I touch the soil of one of her plants and mention to her, "you might need to water this one." She stated that she rarely waters it and it seems to do quite well. She then began to educate me about this odd looking, gorgeous plant. After her instruction, later that day, I did some research and was absolutely amazed at what I discovered about this medicinal plant.

Without a doubt, this particular plant - like so many others - was placed on this earth by a higher intelligence, for the purpose of healing.

My neighbor gave me three large leaves from her many Aloe Vera plants and that's when I started to consume the plant internally and use it externally as well.

t's also a beautiful plant so if you're into horticulture as a hobby, part of you doesn't want to disturb the plant but it probably wouldn't have it any other way; at least that's what I tell myself every time I fillet a leaf.

The image to the right is a gorgeous Aloe Vera plant. Fortunately you can purchase a large leaf at your local Farmers Market for about $0.99. I keep one Aloe Vera plant on hand, not to consume, but for aesthetic purposes.

If you don't believe this is a miracle plant, just check out some of the benefits.
  • Halts the growth of cancer tumors.
  • Lowers high cholesterol.
  • Boosts the oxygenation of your blood.
  • Eases inflammation and soothes arthritis pain.
  • Prevents kidney stones.
  • Cures ulcers, IBS, Crohn's disease and other digestive disorders.
  • Reduces high blood pressure naturally, by treating the cause, not just the symptoms.
  • Nourishes the body with minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glyconutrients.
  • Accelerates healing from physical burns and radiation burns.
  • Replaces dozens of first aid products, makes antibacterial sprays obsolete.
  • Halts colon cancer, heals the intestines and lubricates the digestive tract.
  • Stops constipation.
  • Stabilizes blood sugar and reduces triglycerides in diabetics.
  • Prevents and treats candida infections.
  • Protects the kidneys from disease.
  • Functions as nature's own "sports drink" for electrolyte balance.
  • Boosts cardiovascular performance and physical endurance.
  • Speeds recovery from injury or physical exertion.
  • Hydrates the skin, accelerates skin repair.

In it's raw state, Aloe Vera will have the most beneficial health properties. Cut the plant at the edges, peal the leaf back, take a teaspoon of the clear gel, swallow and chase with juice or water. The taste is not that great but it doesn't linger. One big teaspoon per day, along with walking and drinking lots of water, you'll find yourself the picture of good health in no time.
